Does EXPEED 3 affect the final RAW image or only the in camera JPEG?

I'm wondering if the image processing engine (in my case, EXPEED from Nikon) affect how much noise will appear in the RAW file itself, the color rendering, etc.
I'm not talking about the JPEG, I know the JPEG is definitely affected. Any thoughts from people who have experimented or who know, very much appreciated.

Pixel Oppilas Wireless Remote Control for Nikon?

I recently purchased the Pixel Oppilas Wireless Remote Control for Nikon and it obviously connects. The remote will autofocus the camera with a half press, but will not actually take a shot when I press it all the way down. Is this a setting I have on my camera, or is it a defective remote? Has this happened to anyone else?

Added (1). I've tried covering the viewfinder, and it's not making a difference. The camera is definitely autofocusing completely. It acts like it wants to take the photo and it sounds like the shutter moves a little, but the photo doesn't actually take. Any idea what that could be?

How to fix a blurry eye lens on a Nikon DX3000?

I'm going to apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge in the proper labeling of my camera's anatomy, but the Len that you look through to see what you are going to take a picture of (possibly called the viewfinder) it's right above the screen. Well that lens is somehow blurry on my camera. When I take a picture it looks fine, not blurry at all. The information on the bottom of the Len's screen is also blurry. I tried to clean it but with lens cleaner and a Q-tip and it didn't work.
