Why won't Windows Movie Maker load my videos?

I have been using the same file for months, from my Nikon camera. I checked and it is a recognised file to WMM. I have spent 2 hours filming videos and when I come to load them, the "unrecognised file" icon comes up on the videos…

Why is it doing this and how can I get it to read my files?

Thanks

Added (1). The file is a MOV. File, but it has been accepting it for months, but all of the sudden stopped reading it.

Pentax SLR K-7 stops recording randomly?

Everytime I go to record something, even though it says that there's ten minutes of recording time left on the card, it stop recording at just before two minutes. I can easily continue recording after it stops, it just means that I can't continuously record and since I make movies, I really need this fixed.

I don't think it's a problem with the card because I have two different cards (different types and sizes) and neither of them help. I've tried looking online but everything I've found is for Canon.

Which DSLR for university?

I'm going to be studying Photography next year and would like to upgrade my camera. I have owned a Canon 450D for a few years now, but would like to upgrade before my course starts.

I have been looking at the Canon 70D, 7D and 6D models. I like the 6D as it is full frame and is said to perform well in low light conditions however it is the most expensive of these (I would definitely have to buy it second hand, though this is fine).

My budget is around £1000 though is slightly flexible as I do have a year to save. I have seen used Canon 6Ds go for £1200-£1300 on eBay with 24-105mm f/4 L IS lens kit. Is this a good deal or should I go for a cheaper model and be able to afford extras such as a flash/extra lens also?

What model will I be expected to have at degree level? Ideally I would like to spend as little as possible but also want to make sure that I have a camera suitable for the 3 year course.

P.S. I'm sticking with Canon as I'm familiar with it and have lenses already that I would like to keep!

How should I carry around a nikon camera?

I recently got a nikon dslr and I was wondering how I should carry it around while traveling. I have a camera bag, but that seems a bit cumbersome to carry all day. Can I just put it into a normal day bag? Or would I damage it that way?
