Nikon vesus Canon. Pros and cons?
Those who have used Both Nikon and Canon, please share your preference, pros and cons and why one is better than the other?
There's little if any difference between them Both brands are top brands and probably the two best camera brands. At this point in time, I would recommend both brands to you. I generally go for nikon though, just personal like.
They are both excellent cameras
Nikon has the edge on low light performance. Canon generally has the edge on shooting video, but Nikon is the only one that shoots uncompressed video (D600, D800, D4)
In the end, you have to actually visit a proper camera shop and hold both brands in our hands. You will be married to that system choice for the next few decades.
All Pentax models take (sorry Canon) and meter with (sorry Nikon) MF lenses.
Any Pentax AF lens will autofocus with any Pentax AF body (sorry Nikon).
Pentax cameras have IS/VR built into the body, so it's available with any lens.
Pentax have been making SLRs since 1948 - Canon and Nikon since 1959.
Pentax use the same Sony sensors as Nikon, but their equivalent cameras (including weather sealed models) are cheaper.
Sony make excellent cameras which take either their own lenses or those in Minolta AF fit, they're better for video.
The best camera for you is the one that feels right in your hands - only the truly stupid limit themselves to two manufacturers and you HAVE to be stupid to ask a question that has already been asked 200, 000 times.
