Okay, so today I went to walmart looking for a nikon d500 I think? The ones that take nice clear pics? They're often called "professional" cameras lol. Yah and I saw the one I want whic is $275 there, and then I saw a fujifilm "professional" camera which looks a lot like the nikon I want but its way cheaper its $119 I noticed the only real difference is that the nikon has a better zoom. I was wondering if its worth buying over the $275 one? Does anyone know why its so cheap? If its any good or worth it?

Professional cameras cost more than $4, 000, not including lenses and other accessories. Target, Best Buy, Kmart, Walmart etc to not sell professional cameras; they sell entry-level DSLRs. DSLR does not = professional camera. Tell us the exact model of the camera and we'll be able to help you. Target and all of those places sell the NIkon D5100, a fantastic entry-level DSLR.

The one thing you can always count on - a cheap price means a cheap camera. That one with the
$119 price tag will probably last just past its warranty period. The $275 will last at least 2-years perhaps three.

First you have to decide weather you want a true interchangeable lens camera or a bridge camera that does NOT have interchangeable lenses. You omitted the model number on the Fuji so it is impossible to comment on that one as much as I would like to! But if you are fluctuating between $275 and $119, you are not interested in a camera with interchangeable lenses commonly referred to as a DSLR. And DSLR's usually start at about $550.00 and up with a simple short throw zoom lens. Extra lenses cost a mint and thus have earned my term "money pit".It is not that these cameras are not worth the money, it is the fact that people like your yourself are not that concerned with quality of enlargements. For instance for wall decoration in my home my walls are cover with framed 11x14, 16x20, & 20x24 size prints.

Reading your text, in the first place no camera can be labeled "professional and sell for $119.00. Again it seems you wanted to know about the quality of the Fuji, but left out the Fuji's model number.

Not even a used professional camera will cost $275 (maybe an old film SLR, and that's a big maybe).

Any camera (within reason) can take nice clear pictures, providing you have good picture-taking skills.

Since you mentioned the D500, it sounds as if you are referring to digital SLR cameras (yes, that is what those kind of cameras are called). I find it hard to believe that they would be selling a nikon D500 for only $275. Are you sure about this? Sometimes the signs get mixed up.

The fuji you saw is not a professional camera, and it is not even an SLR. It is an advanced point and shoot camera (what some people refer to as a "bridge camera"). But I'm sure it's capable of taking good pictures, as fuji is a reputable brand.

I suggest looking online and reading the customer reviews to see what people think of those cameras.
