Nikon D310 Blank Photos?
My son grabbed my camera off the table today, still had it as it fell and it hit the ground lightly. Not earth shattering hard. Well, I tried to take photos of the house a few hours later and the photos were blank. It focuses and even flashes, but it's all black. Even in video mode it's black. I tried different memory cards, and it's the same. The settings are auto but I fiddled with them after wards to check it out. I removed the lens and nothing looks broken or loose or anything. Please help me! This camera was my birthday, anniversary and Valentine's Day gift. My husband will kill me if it's broken already and we've only had it since the end of January.
Added (1). If it is the sensor, how much does that usually charge? Nikon said 'a camera falling and not working' doesn't fall under my warranty.
It is very likely that the senor was shaken loose, you can send it back to Nikon for repair.
Yes, you are going to have to pay to have the camera repaired
Warranties only cover flaws in manufacturing that come up during the first year in most cases.
Uncontrolled gravity is NOT covered.
As you have guessed, you have to "childproof" your camera in the future
Yes, product abuse isn't covered by warranty. It will be an expensive repair but hopefully, cheaper than buying a new dSLR.
