Is there a type of disposable camera that is better than others?
I'm a film user and like Kodak Pro Portra 160 and Kodak Professional Tri-X and some others. I'm going to a music festival and want to take film pics, but don't want to lug around my Nikon N60. My boyfriend took our Contax Carl Zeiss Sonnar T 2.8/28 because he is in Europe for 3 weeks and I guess he has more use for it there than I do for just a weekend festival. So I was thinking about just buying a few disposable cameras. Does anyone recommend this and any certain kind? Or any other recommendations?
Some are made by camera brands as Fuji or Kodak
No single use camera are any better than others.
What you need to consider is what do you expect from them
Cameras come in different configurations.
* standard ISO film used when taking photos outdoors in bright sun
* higher speed ISO film which can be used in lower light
* waterproof cameras used when playing in the pool, on the shore or when floating down a river in an inner tube or boat.
* some even shoot panoramic shots
If the festival is during the day, a single use camera will be fine, but do not expect the quality of the images to even be close to what your N60 camera will do. Single use cameras are prefocused at about 2 meters (6 feet), use a plastic lens and the exposures are not adjustable.
I suggest you buy one and do a test in and around your house and look at the results. Then you can make an informed choice.
