It is a 35mm film camera, which would look fine, as long as you know how to use a 35mm film camera, which judging by your last question, you do not.

With quite a bit of effort. Wasn't exactly the best camera ever made and often solded with mediocre lenses.

Do you need to do this assignment on film? If so it really comes down to you having the knowledge and skill to use it, the lighting you'll need, your sets and several other considerations.

What about your model? Does she (I'm assuming a female model) have a basic knowledge of photography? She will need that to pose properly regardless of the set, indoors or out.

This for example I shot available light. But I had to adjust the colors because the available light gave me a yellowish cast over everything. This kind of adjustment is possible with film but it can expensive in the processing.

If you can do the assignment with a digital camera it would make your post production life so much easier.

Only if you know exactly what you're doing. Do you even realize that's a film camera you have there?

For magazine-like quality, you need a decent lens, *plenty of lighting*, and a makeup artist if you're doing glamour shots. If this isn't for a photography class, then don't bother with the pricey equipment-even a point-and-shoot will give good results if you have good lighting.

The N50 being a film camera, expect to waste a roll of film just figuring out which settings you need. A DSLR will save you time and money, unless the assignment specifically requires film. The choice of camera model doesn't quite matter as much as the lens. A prime lens in the 85-135mm range is often used for shallow depth of field (sharp facial features, softened skin), and to avoid perspective distortion (shooting closer will spread the facial features).

A medium-format camera will give better results, and is the equipment of choice for studio photography. Your school's photo department might have one for rental.
