Is it possible to take photographs of water drops showing reflection by a nikon p530?
Its a point & shoot camera & I have not been successful yet. Any tips or tricks would help.
You will need to use the closeup feature on the camera.
Do this.
Use some wax on a pane of glass and then spray the glass with water. The resulting beads of water will reflect what is behind the water droplets. You can use old CD's, flowers or just any bright coloured object
Sadly for such level of photography you need to adjust your camera settings manually but maximum point and shoot camera don't provide manual control, hence its not possible, sorry.
Your camera has full manual controls so you can do anything with your camera that you want, just in case Divyanish led you astray.
In addition to drops of water on glass, there's trying to catch a drop of water "in flight" and hitting a liquid surface. This is mostly trial and error, plus getting the timing right, again by trial and error. Have fun!
If you want to capture falling drops of water, it's the wrong camera. You would need macro to get close up, and you need flash to freeze the motion. Well, the P530 has that, but direct flash at such close range will look awful. To get good results you need a camera that can use bounce flash or external flash.
