I need camera advice?

Hi, so I want too get a nice camera. But i'm not sure which one to get?

I don't want one of those simple cameras. I want one that focuses nicely, has good zoom, etc.

I absolutely love photography. So which one would be good for me?

(I prefer one of the Nikon's, by the way)

Added (1). Price range: $500-700

So work out which Nikon is in your price range.

Ideally, I'd sort out a few choices (Nikon and a couple of competitors) within budget and then find a dealer who'll allow me to handle them.

The only way to work out if a camera's right for you is to get your hands on it.

I'm looking for something similar! I found this a couple minutes ago. I just posted a question on here about a camera too! Here's the link to the one I like so far:

Umm… Hmm… Okay, Nikon's. Well for starters, are you serious enough to want a DSLR camera, or should you look at more sophisticated point-and-shoot cameras? I would start with a Nikon J1, something like that for a point and shoot. As for DSLRs, I would take a look at the Nikon d3000 / d3100. Those are really good as well.

Hope I helped!

(take a look at the Nikon website and explore your options)

Well about 5 to 7 years ago, there was no such thing to bridge the gap between a point and shoot camera, super zoom and a DSLR. The gap meaning a camera system that was able to provide all three options in one; which now presently within the last 3 years, has swamped the market with Hybrid SLR which have interchangeable lenses whilst offering you super zoom with very high photo quality with a DSLR APS-C censor but mostly using a digital view finder rather than a pentaprism or pentamirror from a DSLR.

If you're going to go with a Nikon, then the only one that stands out is the NIkon 1 J1 that has all the features of the above mentioned; although with a bit of a compromise here and there especially with photo quality. It has the highest frame rate up to 60 fps and with movie video shooting at up to 1200 fps. They have interchangeable lenses and it is compact. Their presence is to compete with Sony's NEX as well as Panasonic and Ricoh range of similar cameras; but obviously with a significant price difference.

For your budget I would recommend Nikon D3100 a best entry-level DSLR that can record full 1080p HD videos, it is built around a 14.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 3 inch LCD with One-Touch Live View shooting.
