Until i'm sure i want to invest in a video camcorder, i want to buy a camera with good video and picture quality, i'll be taking video's and want good sound and picture, and also good picture quality for taking photo's in general. My budget is around £160. I'm little stuck.i'm thinking about the Samsung PL221 or a Nikon, but i really haven't got a clue about how good they are. Any advice?

Look if you want best you have to do some research on this. Its not my profession but here it is what i do when shop for new things. Go to some gadgets shop and ask 'em to show some good camera's now don forget to see reviews on internet.

Best thing to do is go into a retailer like Jessops and get some help from them and have a play with a few and pick what suits you best - but - DON'T buy a camera there, go to http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk and you'll get much better prices, someone like Jessops will price match on most stuff if you ask them to but don't rely on it, and don't feel embarrased to say you won't bother buying if they won't. They tend to change their tune if they think you'll walk out without buying anything.

Personally I'd recommend Canon as that's what I've used for decades, but I won't tell you that Nikon make bad cameras like some will because they don't, for your budget have a look at…
