I have a SLR lense that is not a Nikon. Can I use that lens on a Nikon DSLR?

Added (1). Sorry. I didn't know I needed to specify. I it is a Minolta. I have never heard of the name outside of SLR. It says maxxum 330 si. I hope this helps!

Added (2). I believe it is manual focus. How much would an adapter cost?

Well, since you have failed to tell us what camera and lens you have, we have no way of answering your question.

No way to tell you unless you give us what lens you have

no you can't use a minolta lens on a Nikon DSLR

there are adapters you can use, but you will lose 1-2 stops of light, any potential autofocus, possibly metering, and some other stuff

No. You can't use a Minolta lens on a Nikon body.

There's no adapter made to allow use of a Minolta Maxxum AF lens on a Nikon camera body. If the lens was a Minolta manual focus (commonly but mistakenly called an MC or MD mount) lens you could buy an adapter.

Your Minolta Maxxum AF lens would be right at home on a Sony DSLR though.
