How to open pictures from a camera that won't open when pluged in?
I have a Nikon camera and when I plug it in to computer its not opening to download the new pictures I took and I can't figure out how to get them?
Go to file manager. If your camera is connected correctly, its name will be there. Or click on drives like C, D; E: F: etc. One of them will have photos that are store on the camera.
Get a card reader and follow the above answers
Use a USB card reader to connect the camera's memory card directly to the computer's USB slot. When connected, use Windows Explorer or (Mac) Finder to do the actual copying for absolute total control over what goes where exactly. This method eliminates all camera to computer connection problems.
If errors arise, the most possible problem is a damaged memory card. If that is the case, you will need recovery software to retrieve your pictures. Results vary widely. I advise you to temper your expectations.
