How many minutes of video can a 16 GB card hold in 1080p video recording camera?

I have a 1080p recording Nikon camera. I have recently brought a 16 GB memory card and I'm curious to know how many minutes can I shoot in it if I keep it on 1080p mode.

It depends on how much compression you choose to use when capturing video. More compression = more storage on the card = lower video quality… And less compression = less storage on the card = better video quality. Read the manual that came with your new camera. There will be a table in there that has the video quality you select and the amount of video recording time available on a certain memory card…

If you look in the instructions for your camera you will discover that the longest video that can be recorded is 4 GB. So it doesn't matter that you have a 16 GB card, the video stops recording at 4. The minutes depends on the quality setting, but at the highest setting that would be about 10 or 12 minutes.
