How long does the song RX100 V battery last?
I'm having a difficult time finding the average battery for the Sony RX100 V. I plan to use the camera for video and the 4k. I know there will be two different average times. One for video and one for 4k. Any help would be great.
The number of still shots the RX 100 V can take is only 220.
What this means is that you will need to carry around a hand full of batteries when shooting long sessions or any video.
My Nikon D3s, for instance can shoot up to 4200 images on a fully charged battery
Cameras which use electronic viewfinders are by nature energy hogs.
Okay
Confusing question… 4k video is a video format… But you want to know about "video and the 4k".
The Sony RX100 V is a digital still image capture device.
Read the manual:
https://docs.sony.com/release//Manual_4593797111.pdf
The title page says "Digital still camera".
Video is a convenience feature.
See page 14. The table shows "battery life" of "typical movie shooting" or "continuous movie shooting".
The note at the bottom says after 29 minutes, the camera will automatically stop capturing video.
Pages 32 & 33 refer to the amount of video captured on a memory card based on the video options selected (resolutions) and memory card capacity. Warnings at the bottom of the page repeat the limitation mentioned above and add overheating (cool-down can take 10+ minutes until the camera can be used again) and 20 minute/4 gig duration/size limit.
If you got the RX100 V specifically for video, you got the wrong tool for the job - it can capture good video, but that is not its primary design purpose… Sort of like getting a Prius to haul dirt when a pick-up truck would be much more efficient.
