High quality Nikon cameras?

I really want a new camera for Christmas. I like the Nikon l120, but I was wondering what other Nikon cameras are high quality. Preferably in the $200-$300 price range.

I would like a camera such as yours for christmas as well! I'm looking at the Nikon D100! HOPE I HELPED!

Even though the L120 looks like a cool camera, it is just an entry level camera with a big ol' lens slapped on the front of it. Everyone thinks it's a professional camera. But it's just a run-of-the-mill entry level camera.

Nikon's "L" series are entry level cameras, and the "P" series are their high-end compacts.

Currently you can find the Nikon P7000 on sale for $279 at Amazon. This is the best compact camera you can buy for under $300 by far.
