What are some good high quality cameras?

I'm looking for a good camera with auto focus. It can be any type of camera. Mostly good for high quality videos and pictures. If you would give information about the camera that would help. Not really looking for those really big Canon or Nikon type of cameras cause they are kinda pricey, just looking for those normal sized cameras at the moment. Any cameras you recommend? I heard some of those digital Canon cameras were good.

I personally own a Canon G10 and it's 14.8 megapixels which is pretty good for such a compact camera like that. It also has a flip screen like the canon eos so you can mount it on a tripod and take some good self portraits.

I'm a Canon user, so I'm most familiar with Canon's lineup. Since you don't want a DSLR, I'd suggest a G-Series (like a G12, or G11) or and S-Series (like an S100). They're great compact cameras and work very well.
It's funny that you call a DSLR 'really big', I think of them as normal and find most point and shoots to be too small to use comfortably.
