Nikon D800 Camera Tagging?

For example - I take 10 shots of the same person and show them those shots on my camera - is there a way that I can identify which one they've chosen and then see that same notification once I transfer to my computer?

Yes, you can attach a note to the photo. The procedure is described on page 160 in the manual.
