Nikon D300 And D300s is the D300 worth upgrading?
I'm stuck between getting them as the D300 is much cheaper but does the D300s really give that much more?
I shoot with the D300. Somewhat may depend on your goals with the camera. The D300s can do some video, and write to two different memory cards. I'm giving you a link to a review that also has a run down of the differences between the two cameras.
Oh, I also use the MB-D10 battery pack, and have never lost a shot due to inability to shot enough fps.
It has a slightly higher MP rating, but you are in an area where the increase will not really be noticed, not based on a camera like the D300.
I think the real issue may come down to the substantially higher price, and whether you want to spend that amount of money chasing after the newest out there.
I have had my D300 for a bit over a year, but I don't feel it is obsolete.
If the video capability of the newer model is not important, I'd go with the D300 and spend the extra cash on lenses, flashes or other accessories. The D300 is as good as any other APS-C format camera available today with respect to still photography. There's no noticeable difference in image quality between the two and only minor revisions of the button layout on the back due to the newer model's video capability.
Ya D300S is much better than S300.
