Landscape lens for the d60?

Mano

I just damaged my 18-55VR and I need a new lens… With the fact that I enjoy landscaping I like a lens for landscaping… How ever I need to get something till 250 Euros… 10-20 euros more or less…
I don't have much money to spend on some fancy equipment… I use a d60 not a D3:)

What do you think also about the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm F1.8 G?

I think you should be looking for something wider than 35mm. See the list in your other question. And, there's little reason for auto-focus in a landscape lens. If money is an issue, consider manual focus. You can also sacrifice a little speed in a landscape lens since a deep DoF is usually what you shoot for, and you are usually at hyperfocal distance.

If you can live with the 35mm it's a good choice. Personally I like 24mm for landscape on dx. With that much money to spend. Why not look for a 18-105? Alternatively, a used 24mm AF

A 35mm lens on your D60 will NOT be a wide angle lens. It will have the same angle of view that a 52.5mm lens would have on a 35mm film camera or a full-frame DSLR like the Nikon D700. The 18mm end of your damaged 18-55mm lens has the angle of view that a 27mm lens would have on a 35mm film camera or the D700 - a significant difference that makes the 18mm a better choice for landscape photography.

Since money is an issue I'd suggest buying another 18-55mm lens - unless you really want an upgrade and then the Nikon 18-200 might be worth considering.

I made these comparison pictures using a 35mm film camera and a 24mm and 35mm lens to show the difference in the angle of view when using a 24mm lens on a 1.5x "cropped sensor" DLSR like your D60. (24mm x 1.5 = 36mm so the 35mm lens used is very close). Please note that the camera was on a tripod and the camera position did not change.

Notice how much more of the scene is included in the 24mm picture compared to the 35mm picture?

To achieve the same effect with your D60 would require a 16mm lens. (16mm x 1.5 = 24mm).
