Recommendation for a good portrait and landscape lens?

I'd be getting a DSLR this coming May and it will be Nikon D7000. Do you guys have recommendations on what lens is best for each to exploit their sensor resolution. Please do indicate if they are expensive and or cheap so i could forecast my budget.
I"m into street photography, events, some portraits and landscape. Especially for portrait(full body) and landscape. Third party lenses are welcome provided you really recommend them and What about my camera choice?

As you are just starting out, then I'd suggest for now you just buy one lens initially and keep any spare cash for a couple of weeks, until you figure out what you are missing.

I'd ignore the kit lens that often comes with DSLRs but instead go for an 18-50mm(ish) f/2.8 lens (Specifically such as the Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED).It'll just about cover your landscapes, and portrait photography from head and shoulders through full body.

I'd suggest that in addition to this lens you may want to consider getting a speedlight so you can start taking those portrait shots indoors (the built in flash is not really powerful enough). If you want to go with Nikon then the obvious choice would be to start with the SB700, you can then add more compatible speedlights later if you need to.

The D7000 is a fine camera.

The 18-55 is a fine way to get started, it's cheap and optically pretty good. It will also allow you to discover what you really want from a lens.

Nikon's 18-105 is another fine option, bit more "zoom" which will be useful for street photography. Optically it's slightly better than the 18-55.

Full body portraits depends on your working distance, a prime lens such as the 30mm sigma or the 35mm nikon is a good option.

Another interesting lens is Nikon's 16-85. The difference between 16 and 18mm is noticeable especially in landscapes. It's optically superior to the two other lenses but comes at a price.

D7000 is a great camera body.

If you're looking for inexpensive but very good all purpose portrait lenses, start with the 50mm f1.8 and 35mm f1.8 for full body portraits on the D7000

Plan on purchasing a 70-200mm f2.8 VR II, which is a versatile focal range. Great for events, street photography, and portraits that are not full-body. It's around $2500, but worth every penny.

Add the 24-70mm f2.8 and 14-24mm f2.8, and you'll have practically everything you'd need for events and landscape photography.

I got a Nikon 18-200 mm lens for my Nikon DSLR - so I would never need to change my lens again as with my new lens you can take portrait and landscape( i got the idea from reading an article by a professional photographer who has an 18-200mm Canon lens) - i bought it secondhand and it cost about the same as my camera (300 pounds).
