How to take great fog photos?
There's only a few special days here in Washington state, when the fog looks magical to the human eye--everything seems to disappear in a fade, but the close objects are still clear. But when I take the photos with the camera, it comes out flat and dull… I want a shot like this: but for example, whenever I try, the near tree, is also in a haze and doesn't "pop" like in most pro images of fog
Do you guys have any tips for me to take great fog shots? Like what ISO for example? I Have a Nikon D200 w/ 18-55mm and 70-300mm
You need to underexpose for fog. Try -1 EV or -2 EV. These articles should help:
