Good starter camera? 3c?

So I would like to get into photography, but I'm not sure what camera to get! Someone recommended the Nikon d300, but I'm not sure if that is a good camera to start out with… Help me? :3c

You can take photographs with any camera and get good results (as proven by Bert Hardy with a box browny many years ago) so I wouldn't worry too much which one you get. Just think about how much you want to spend, a Nikon d300 is quite a useful camera, and as long as you can get to grips with the essentials of photography, it will give you some good results, but there are lots of others to choose from. A Canon 20d is a good choice and they are getting cheaper to pick up second hand now. I use a Fuji S1 pro which is getting quite old now, but still works fine and takes Nikon lenses.

Mostly depends on the type of photography you are doing. Yes, the D300 is a very good pro-level camera. But you do not need a D300. This is not a starter camera. In fact I would go with cheaper DSLR camera to start with. There are a lot of benefits of getting a non-pro model dslr.

Not sure how many buttons and knobs you are looking for, but I use a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS. It is considered a bridge camera. It can be auto everything, or you can adjust levels and learn before jumping into a DSLR. I love it and learn from using it each day. I started off using a little kodak point and shoot with tape holding the battery compartment closed. I pushed it to every limit. They are correct, you can take wonderful photos with whatever camera you pick. It is the eye of the photographer and knowing how to use your camera. Try going to www.flickr.com and look around at people's photos. It usually will show you what camera took the photo and has a link to another page telling you about the camera. It will also show you other photos that people have taken with that camera.
