How to deal with the noise shooting Nikon D300 in RAW?

I'm quite unhappy with my images taken with my Nikon D300 using the RAW picture format. Also, I can't find the proper work-flow in Adobe Lightroom 3 in order to get rid of the noise. I only wanted to shoot in RAW and develop it in LR3 to send it to client instead of shooting RAW and Jpeg.
1. What shall be the shooting setting in my camera to minimize or remove noise in my pictures to get that crispy clear pictures?
2. What is the best work flow to develop RAW pictures in Adobe Lightroom 3 in order to remove noise in my pictures?
Happy and I appreciate every help.

1. For lowest noise, avoid very long exposures and very high ISO's. Use the lowest f-number possible.
2.In Lightroom, there should be an option to allow you to adjust noise reduction, adjust the dial until your happy.

Shoot at the lowest ISO you can.
Noise on the d300 is not an issue until you get to very high iso.
If you are having problems with it then either you are expecting too much or you are not setting up correctly.
Can't help without examples and exif data.

1) what are you shooting and in what light?
2) are you using a specific ISO or AUTO?
3) what was your metering set on?
noise occurs with high ISO or bad metering where there are strong conflicting light levels…
noise ninja is a better software to use to reduce noise…

When I worked with the Nikon D300 I used to find noise acceptable upto 800ISO but after that the noise became excessive; it appears that others have the same problem.
The only solution is to use lower ISO settings until you identify the one which gives the acceptable noise levels. In my case I needed higher ISOs and changed to the D700 model which I now rate quite often at 4500 - 6400 for interior shots which still give less noise than the D300 at 800 ISO.
Sorry to advise the simple solution - lower ISO or new camera body.
