Which of these two camera's?

I'm considering a Canon Rebel T1i or a Nikon D3100. Of these two cameras ONLY, what would be your preference and why? These are within my price range and are readily available at my local store, would like to avoid the shipping the comes from ordering online. So, what's your opinion?
Added (1). Atually, it IS worth splitting hairs over if I'm going to be spending 500-700 bucks for a new camera.

Canon

I prefer Canons personally, but between the two cameras in question, I would most likely choose the D3100 if I had no lenses previously.
They both record video in full 1080p, but the D3100 allows auto-focusing during video, which the T1i does not.
If video is not important to you, then I would personally choose the Canon. There's a slightly larger selection of lenses in Canon's EF and EF-S lines than in Nikon's AF and AF-S lines (not to mention that only the AF-S line will autofocus on the D3100).
I think you will be happy with either of these cameras as long as you put in the "work" to learn how to use it to the best of its ability.

Either one is good. I don't think it's worth splitting hairs over them.
Since I already have a canon, I would probably choose the nikon. If I had a nikon, I might choose the rebel.
