Which of these two lenses would work better on my Nikon D5000?

Which of these lenses would be a better fit for my Nikon D5000? I have tried them both and fear I'm not experienced enough to see a difference. I put a link to a comparison thing but a lot of the terms I don't understand. All I understand it that one was cost almost 3 times as much. What do you all think?
Thanks guys o and quick note I know the Tamron is noisy but that doesn't matter to me. Please explain reasons as best you can.

To put it simply, the 55-300 is much better. Also consider the Nikkor 55-200 VR.

The Nikon

Law of diminishing returns in action.
On the 55-300 you get VR which is nice for slow shutter speeds. It's also a bit sharper which you will notice if you start cropping.
