Which macro lens is suitable for nikon D7000?
I'm planing to buy a macro lens for nikon D7000… I'm quite confused that which one I should get to get extreme closeups! So close that i can see the hairs of insects on their body… I have heard of canon MP-E65mm which does ultimate job… But i need little help in nikon. Can AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED compete with canon MP-E65… And this canon lens has 5 times magnification than nikon… How does it affect actual quality…
Unfortunately there's no Nikon equivalent to the Canon MP-E65mm, as it is a unique lens. However, you can mimic the result somewhat with the combination of extension tubes and macro lens.
Also you may want to research a bellows for Nikon - as I think they can go up to 22x.
Realize though that at those magnifications, the DoF is going to be exceedingly shallow, and at some point, unusable.
