Which Nikon camera is the most suitable?
I'm 15 years old, I'm new in all this photography stuff and would like to know which one is the best: A nikon D3100 or a Nikon D5100.
The d5100 has the same sensor as the d7000:) its also a great camera. If you are on a budget get the d3100 and invest in some quality lenses
Nikon D5100 will be your answer. With 18-55mm VR Lens, it delivers a galaxy of professional features in a consumer digital camera. A high-resolution 16.2MP DX format CMOS sensor and an EXPEED 2 image processing engine guarantee superb quality and high performance. The 3" vari-angle tilting LCD monitor allows you full freedom in composition with sparkling 921, 000-dot resolution. Full 1920 x 1080p video with full-time autofocus (for tracking subjects in motion) and stereo sound (using optional microphone) is always available with in-camera editing. More details and reviews link below.
If you love shooting videos, go for D5100! Nikon clearly engineered the camera for video functions. The swivel LCD display and external microphone support will come in handy. If you have limited budget, the Nikon D3100 still favourable for video. Although it doesn't have a microphone input jack, the camera can records HD movie at 1080 / 24fps. Both Nikon D3100 and D5100 can autofocus when recording videos.
