What's the lowest shutter speed suitable for a football match in nikon D7000?
Say its bright or dull, what's the slowest i can use to reduce blur in a footy match?
1/500. 1/1000 is best but that's in bright sunlight.
Depends on the focal length of your lens. The conventional advise is to use 100 for each 100mm focal length.
For instance, if you have a 100mm lens, then a shutter speed of 1/100, a 200mm lens, then a shutter speed of 1/200 would be the minimum, and so on.
But I would double that as you are looking at taking action photos - i.e. Use 1/200th at 100mm or 1/400 at 200mm, etc.
If you have a VR lens, you could get away with a slower shutter speed, but VR will not help action photos - it will only help camera shake. So since you still have action in your photo, I would not drop below 1/200th of a second regardless of what the lens focal length is.
Even then, this is only a starting point - you should further adjust the shutter speed as you see the need.
