Added (2). I prefer with TTL dedicated… But i would like something not expensive… My budget is around 100~150 bucks… No more… Thanks guys…

You should decide which body you are going to use it with most. A flash could be used in manual mode with either brand, but it is either Nikon or Canon for TTL use.

I have a Nikon D90 and Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro.

The first macro flash I tried was a Metz 15.

The Metz MecaBlitz 15 will work with Canon, Nikon, and Sony. I bought one for my Nikon D90 but could not get it to work in iTTL mode, only manual (it is supposed to work with iTTL). When you set it up, you select Nikon, Canon, or Sony. I think it even might have had a Panasonic setting as well, but it has been a couple of months since I returned it.

After contacting Metz tech support, they concluded it was a defective unit so I returned it. Unfortunately, after returning mine, no one had them in stock for 6 weeks - and the price for the new ones went up $50.

So I ended up buying a Nikon R1 macro flash.

You don't need the R1C1 as your D7000 can directly control the CLS speedlights on the R1. The R1C1 is only required for the D3100/D5100, etc. As it contains the SU-800.

I really did like the Metz 15, it was a nice unit and fairly compact. It works with your Nikon's CLS system for TTL (supposedly).

It can also learn in slave mode the difference between a pre-flash and main flash, and there are TTL settings for Canon as well.

But I'm happy with the Nikon R1. However, I had to buy a metal step ring from 55mm to 77mm as the R1 does not come with a 55mm adapter. Not a problem, as the run-of-the-mill step rings are heavy duty enough to hold the R1.

One caution though. The Tokina 100mm macro - which is the lens I have - uses external focusing, which means that the filter - and the ring light is attached to the lens barrel - and it extends when it is focused. This is an issue when attaching a ring light - regardless of brand, in that it adds a lot of weight to the barrel. This in turn can damage or burn out the camera's focus motor.

The solution is to manually focus the lens whenever you have a ring flash on it. This is not a real problem though as most of the time for macro work, you want to manually focus anyway as most cameras do not do well in autofocus at such close distances.

Other lenses, such as the Nikon AF-S 105mm macro are internal focus, meaning the filter ring does not connect to the focus element, so you can safely use autofocus. But again, manual focus is still recommended for macro.
