I'm looking to get a dslr camera ether the nikon d7000 or Canon 60d most of my pictures are taken for concerts and some portraits and for fun outside and at night. I also want to get into the hdr and recording movies with it. Those are my main used for the camera and i'm not sure which one would be better for and which lenses for the nikon or canon whichever is good to start out that are kinda cheap

Concerts are considered low light / high ISO assingment

Here is how the D7000 and 60D compare under those conditions

As you can see, the low light performance of the D7000 is superior.

Here is a video shot using a D7000 in rather low light

The lenses are more important to image quality than the camera body is, and the prosumer grade cameras that you listed use the same sensors as their entry level counterparts (D5100 and 550D/T2i respectively) - the technical image quality will be identical. Don't buy cheap lenses with the kit lens that the camera comes with being the only exception - these are good for finding out what kind of photography you really are into, so you can make an educated decision on what lens you really need the most.

Anyway, be aware that unless you have a press card you won't be allowed into very most concerts with a DSLR.

The Nikon D7000 doesn't appear to move into Variable Angle LCD (swivel) territory. The Canon 60D also has 60fps frame rates which I hear is hard to live without these days, and Nikon doesn't seem to have this option. No full time auto focus on the 60D like the D7000 has, but most of us wouldn't use it. Canon doesn't go with Dual card slots, but does come in 2 megapixels more in resolution. The Canon 60D also carries the new infrared trigger to fire flashes remotely, which I don't see an option for in the D7000.
