Where can i buy a nikon d40? - 1

I tried amazon but they don't have, don't think they sell these anymore. I also don't trust ebay.

Just doing a quick search I found the D40 for $559 here:

I've never bought anything from that company so I can't vouch for them, but Google Products lists them at 4.5/5 stars customer rating from 192 reviews. You can see the whole Google Products listing for the D40 here, with companies selling new, refurbished and used units:

Also, you could search your local Craigslist for used cameras, where you'd have the chance to inspect one in person before buying it from someone. But $559 new seems like a good deal. I'm happy with my Canon but the Nikon is a terrific camera.

I suggest you skip the D40 and get a D3100 instead. If you must have a D40 I suggest buying one from a trusted source of used cameras such as KEH or one of the bigger online dealers such as B&H Photo or Adorama. The D3100 is a newer camera with higher resolution and HD video feature for not much more money - I'd think this over if I were you.
