What tripod to buy for d5000 Nikon DSLR?

Can you suggest a good tripod for Nikon d5000.It needs to be sturdy and low cost.

Sturdy and low cost are usually mutually exclusive.

You can find some tripods in the $100 range that should be good enough.

Generally, when buying a tripod, a person buys one that will hold at least 15 pounds. Why? Because eventually, you will find that you will be using longer lenses and they just weigh a lot more. The goal is to buy a tripod just one time and never have to upgrade it unless you are simply buying a different head for the existing "sticks"
