Is there a cheap wide angle prime lens for Canon?

I was using a 50mm f1.8 on my 60D and I love it. IT is great outdoors but it is a problem indoors as it is quite zoomed in like a 85mm. Is there any wide angle or perhaps other cheap prime lenses available on the market? I'm quite jealous of Nikon owners having a 35mm f1.8 cheaply. Is there anything similar for Canon?

The 50 1.8 is indeed the cheapest lens you can get for your Canon. But I don't have a clear idea on how much is 'cheap' to you. Aside from the 50 1.8 there's also another lens that you might fancy. It is the Canon EF 35mm f2.0.It costs around 300 dollars which is quite a lot compared to the 50mm f1.8 but I would say it is still cheap for a lens. That 35mm offers a wider 56mm equivalent rather than 85mm for the 50mm. Do check the lens out. Cheers

I would recommend the Sigma 30mm F/1.4 over the Canon 35mm F/2 - the Sigma is only €200 dearer and has many advantages.

-Better build quality
-Faster and quieter focus
-Includes lens hood
-F/1.4 instead of F/2 - much brighter
-30mm instead of 35mm - wider field of view
-The Sigma has much nicer bokeh (out of focus areas)
-The Canon 35mm F/2 also makes a very buzzy noise and is known for not being the sharpest lens.

The Sigma 30mm F/1.4 retails for just under €500. A very good price in my opinion. The next thing after that is the Canon 35mm F/1.4L which is €1500.

As previously said, I don't know what you consider cheap. To me, that Sigma 30mm lens is extremely cheap. Because I shoot professionally a cheap lens to me is generally €1000 or more. But I think €500 is a good, reasonable price. Especially for what you're getting from the lens, it's a fantastic performer.

Define "cheap". Canon makes 28/1.8, 28/2.8 and 35/2.0 primes that are available new for $300-800. And used for a bit less. My two favorite Nikkor lenses for walk-a-bout are the 28/2.8 and the DX 35/1.8.
