What nikon camera should a new photographer use?

I recently took a basic photography class at my highschool and I'm going out tonight for Black Friday to buy my first professional camera. I want to see if I can make a hobbie out of this. Any recommendations on what I should buy? I was thinking a Nikon D Series camera? Possibly the D3000?

D3100 is best for beginners… OR
if you DO have the money D5100.

Professional cameras cost between $ 4, 000 and $ 43, 000. The D3000 is a discontinued beginner DSLR.

First of all, a professional camera wil costs you 3000+ dollars. And professional cameras never go on sale… The D3000 has been replaced by the D3100. And check out amazon, they're usually cheaper b/c you don't have to pay sales tax.

Even a beginner can use any camera as long as he can afford to buy it. The cheapest and the high end cameras follow the same basics as ISO, shutter speed, and aperture and they all have AUTO features.
The D3000 is fine and is the cheapest among available Nikon DSLRs in the market but if you have extra $, get the D3100.It is a much improved version of the D3000.

Want to see the possibility? Feel yourself now. Are you serious about it? Are you willing to devote many long hours and take thousands of shots just to learn? If yes, buy the most expensive you can afford (that has a lens). If not, buy the cheapest and don't scratch it so it will resell higher later.

A Canon T3.

I would try and find a D3100 on black friday
I got a Canon SLR for 479.00 a day early from best buy with a UV filter, 8GB memory card, bag I suggest replacing As soon as possible(it holds a body with a lens on it based on the picture and that's it)
I did not find a bundle like the Canon one, but this is close, just doesn't come with a UV filter

If you want to print 13X19 photos, the D3100 will do it easy with nice glass, the 18-55 will not do it well, and the telephoto in the bundle I linked will be nice for it
