What lense is best to buy for shooting music videos with a nikon d7000?
I have a d7000 that i have been working with shooting videos and its doing good so far, but i'm really wanting to buy a good lense, maybe a wide angle lense thats what i keep seeing people say to get. This kit lense that came with the camera just aint gunna cut it anymore.dose anybody have any suggestions on what lense works best? I'm not trying to spend a fortune but i need something that will improve the quality of my work.
How much do you want to spend? I use the Zeiss F 19mm and it is awesome but it's a very expensive lens. I use primarily Zeiss lenses when filming with the D7000 though pro Nikon lenses are good but do not focus as smoothly because they are not made to focus for motion use. I'd have to see the look you want to recommend a lens. Do you have a sample you can post? (Of something you like). I'll be glad to help you pick a lens but I need to see the sample first. If you want to see the D7000 in action, search Patricia Mario Who Knows on youtube. That was shot with the D7000, Zeiss 19 & 85mm lenses and a Nikon 50mm f1.4. Near the end, the shot in the hottub with the skyline in the back is the 19mm. I'll be glad to help, you have a great camera.
There's no best lens for video, it's what you make with it. Maybe you like wide, or maybe low light stuff, you have to decide what YOU need not what others say.
What's not fortune? Below $500? Maybe a 35mm f/1.8G would be great for low light and being relatively close, or 50mm f/1.8G for a few meters away.
