What do I compress.mov H.264 codec files to for use in Avid Media Composer?
I'm used to Final Cut and new to Avid. I shot on a Nikon D5100 that creates video files that are.mov with H.264, Linear PCM codecs. I'm using Compressor and had always compressed these files to Apple ProRes for Final Cut… Should I do the same for Avid/should I just leave them alone/or how do I transfer to Avid DNxHD codec in Compressor?

Just leave it be… If it can open in the program its fine. It's what you render it to be in the end after your editing that matters more.
I've done video editing and the input files don't entirely matter, but sometimes when I render to.avi its choppy so I end up going to.wmv instead. File size may also be a consideration to you, in which case.mp4 is fine.
