What cameras have similar features to the Nikon D3200?
I would love to buy the Nikon D3200 but $699 is a little up there. So I'm looking for an entry level DSLR with similar features, such as; manual and automatic options, optical viewfinder and screen, low light photography.
I would really like professional opinions too if possible. Thank you!
Added (1). FhotoAce, sorry for my use of the word professional. I meant someone who is familiar with the camera first hand and knows what they are talking about. Most importantly, I'm looking for a camera with great quality but more importantly a manual setting. I want to be able to control the exposure time and focus myself. I'm used to my Pentax K1000, so upgrading to digital without manual and not being able to control everything is a little daunting.
Get the D5100, $600 at Wal Mart and it has far more neat and creative features than the 3200 does.
None really.
The D3200 is one of the first new generation Nikon dSLR cameras and it is the least expensive.
The D5100 will be replaced in a few months with the D5200 which will have this new generation sensors that only the D3200, D800 and D4 have at this time.
"professional options" What do you mean by that? We who shoot professionally, use more robust cameras and shoot mostly in the manual mode. Manually set the white balance, ISO and shoot in RAW.
Ignore Sound Lab. He is a salesman of Sony and doesn't know anything about photography…
Basically today's all new cameras have same features. If money matter for you. You can buy D3100 or 1100D
People often ask for camera. But they forget about Lens. Which are more important than camera. So buy any camera but keeping in mind the cost of lenses also. Without good lenses you highly expensive camera is useless…
3 years ago I bought a Canon EOS450D (Rebel XSi) that was already discontinued. I was delighted with it then and I'm still using it to produce photos that I'm proud of. I have no plans to replace it any time soon unless it breaks. My son uses a 400D (Rebel XTi) and a friend uses a 40D. Both, like me, are very happy with their cameras and have no intention of "upgrading" any time soon. I have no interest in trying to impress by having the latest model camera around my neck.
My point is this - you don't have to have the latest technology megapixel packed camera to get good results. Just because yesterday's market leading camera has been superseded doesn't suddenly turn that camera to s**t.
SO!
Look for recently superseded cameras to save yourself some $$$. Here in the UK the runout stock of the Canon 1000D (Rebel XS) and Nikon D3000 are on sale under £300. Pentax and Sony make superb DSLRs and their entry level cameras also undercut Nikon and Canon's current models. Careful if you want video - that only came onto DSLR's relatively recently so the 1000D (and my 450D) don't have video.
