So i don't have that much money to spend but i want a decent dslr camera.i've been doing a research but still can't decide… Btw i'm buying it on amazon… Is it reliable?
I have in the eye
canon eos rebel t3i for $499
nikon d3100 for $466 or d3200
which one you recommend?

i really can't go for something more than 500 dollars but if there's a better camera for let's say 100 more and you recommend me to buy another one i can raise the money, i mean i just wanna make a good purchase… I'll really appreciate some help

To make the best purchase, you should pop into your local camera store and try handling the cameras in your 'shortlist'… You would prefer one more than the others after handling the different models, not all cameras feel right when you hold them, and what feels good to me, won't make it feel right for you.

You really should make your own mind up.

The cameras are pretty much similar specification and it is down to your own personal preference.

While Amazon are generally reliable, I'd think twice about them for cameras.

Yes, you'll pay more if you buy your camera over the counter. The upside is that you can handle any suitable candidates first, and work out the one that feels best to you (you're the one who'll be shooting with it, after all). You will also have a hundred questions as you're starting out, it's much easier to ask your dealer these questions face-to-face. A dealer is also much easier to find if your camera develops a problem.

I'd look at Sony (better video) and Pentax (meter with MF lenses) as well, before committing to purchase.

Canon T3i for my pick and from experience. The Canon T3i gives you great photos even if your a beginner. Its easy to use and great for both Video and photos. The swivel screen is useful too. I had the Nikon D3100 and No offense to any nikon users but it was the worst. I got it and sold it in matter of weeks. The video was lacking which didn't really surprise me cause in my opinion Canon video is better. But yeah, Go with the Canon T3i. I promise you that you won't regret it! You'll love it! Hope you have fun with your camera!
(Hope this didn't offend any Nikon users)

I would recommend you the Nikon D3100, because of its good quality pictures. D3100 has a contrast detection video autofocus which automatically focuses shooting video. It has a self cleaning sensor which Removes dust from the sensor automatically, avoiding spots in photos. It has 14.2 MP true higher resolution which Capture around 20% more detail in your photos and has less shutter lag which helps to take around 10% less delay when taking photos. There's no doubt that the D3100 is one of the best entry-level SLRs available, offering very good image quality coupled with speedy operation and straightforward handling at least for conventional eye-level use. D3100 has also gained a proper rubber grip, rather than the rubberized coating that featured on the D3000. The D3100's movies are really rather good, with smooth motion and impressively low noise in dim light. The following link will provide you the more information about this Dslr.

It has 14.2-megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor with 3-inch monitor with One-Touch Live View shooting and movie capture. It includes 3x 18-55mm Zoom-NIKKOR VR Image Stabilization lens with Full 1080p HD Cinematic Video with full-time autofocus and sound. It has Easy-To-Use Nikon Guide Mode with intuitive controls and on-board assistance. It also Capture images to SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards.

If you can't afford a entry level DSLR in the first place how are you going to afford the 50-200mm lens and the macro lens which I consider to be the minimum necessary equipment to have with a DSLR.

You sound like you have been reading this site and others where a few "pro's" say that you can't take a decent picture unless you own a DSLR. I have both DSLR and a 'bridge" camera. I have made beautiful1x14's on my bridge camera and it is so easy just to grab the camera in a small case verses a big gadget bag to lug around. You didn't mention you want to learn to be a photographer or to make money with your skills, so I think EVERYBODY buying a DSLR is unnecessary!
