I have one and I'm quite happy with it. I'm just a hobby wild life photographer and that camera does everything I need it to da and more.
It is a fine dSLR designed to capture decent still images assuming the user takes the time to learn to use it properly. It can also capture decent video when the lighting is good and a tripod or other steadying device is used but is not a camcorder replacement.
It's an excellent camera with 3D Tracking, Fulltime AF in Live view, Excellent HDR, 4 frames/sec, 14-bit RAW, ISO goes up to 25600 with boost. It's a very good camera to consider but it's not that good for fast action shooting. For that, I will suggest getting the newer D5300. If you need either of Nikon cams with bundle at reasonable price, mail me for more info.
Not bad, but the Pentax K-50 uses the same sensor (made by Sony) a pentaprism viewfinder, weather-sealing, and the ability to meter with legacy lenses.
The older K-30 - which is bad for video, but just as good for everything else - is cheaper than either the K-50 or the D5100.
I have the D5000, and have been very happy with it. I've had photos published using this camera.
Hd pictures, great lens, lots of memory.
