What are the best lenses for the Nikon D7000?

I'm fairly new to photography and I've decided on buying the Nikon D7000(my first D-SLR). I asked around, did tons of research and it seems reasonable since I'm just starting.
Now I'm debating over lenses. I'm attending a great photography school, doing lots of research and like many people, I want to do different types of photography.
1. High-fashion modeling shoots. Some people recommend the AF-S 85mm but others say 105mm.
2. Landscapes and traveling. I know I should go for a wide angle lens but I'm not sure which one is good for me. I live by the beach but I'm also going on a road trip to Washington this fall and would love to capture the Pacific Coast Highway.
3. Everyday use. This is where I'm completely stuck. I can't decide if I should go for a pricey or inexpensive one and what type.

1. On a cropped sensor camera such as your D7000, 85mm and 105mm will be a little too narrow. Better would be a 50mm lens. If you want zooming capabilities, the 24-70mm f/2.8
2. Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 is what I would get
3. The Nikon 18-200mm for everyday
More expensive lenses generally mean better lenses. Less expensive is less quality

The 18 - 200mm will cover just about everything…

You have a very good camera and you should get good lenses not some of the ones that have been recommended so far. First is to determine a budget and go from there. With the D7000 the 85 f1.4 is a great all around lens. You can do a number of combos with various starting points depending on your budget. I think this is a good set up: 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, 70-200 f2.8 I can shoot almost anything with that set up. You can start with the 50 and work your way up. If you state your budget and long term goals it is much easier to give you the proper advice. Since you are going to photography school I assume you are going to work as a pro and in that case I would suggest you only buy top of the line lenses. The glass will last forever regardless of what bodies you buy. If you repost I'll be glad to help you out.

You should consider buying a D3100 (or pre-order a 3200) so you have more money to put towards glass. For now, just get the 18-105 kit lens. Your school should have equipment for you to use. After a few years you'll know what lenses you should buy.

I agree with the guy said just start with a kit lens. These will be good starter nikon lens. Starting from the cheapest to the most expensive.

Once you get an all arounder kit lens, build your collection of lenses around on that.
