What are cons about the nikon d90?

Its an older model!

It can be a very good camera & it can be the worst camera, it all depend on your need. (skateboarding, snowboarding it's a no go for me, the fps are to low, but for landscape, portrait, street shot, it's perfect.)
- Not that good if you're into movie comparing to newer model.
- It may not perform as well in low light comparing to newer model.
- It's old, therefore you'll have to buy it use & sometime you can end up with problem, I've seen it before.

Don't let anyone tell you about an "older model". Just because you drive a 3-year old car that doesn't make it bad.
Bad is in the hands and eye of the photographer. If that person knows what they're doing around a
dslr camera, any Canon or Nikon will produce excellent results. See, the thing is this. The best photographer on the planet can get wonderful results with the cheapest camera out there… So the reverse is true, the worst can't get a lick of a photo with a $38, 000 camera… Get my point?
If you know how to handle and operate such a camera I'd say it's excellent. If you don't, and since you have to ask about it I'm assuming you don't, if you want good results you'll have to work at it.
