What are the positive and negative points of owning a Nikon D5100. Its my first DSLR. I have the standard issue 18-55mm lens AF-S VR and I purchased the the 55-300 VR Lens too.

It is one of the best entry level dSLR cameras at present.

Its sensor performs as well as the Nikon D7000 and better than any of the Canon APS-C sensored cameras.

Here is the D5100 cameras sensor compared to the much more expensive Canon 7D

It depends on who you ask. It has no ISO button on the camera, no AF motor, which is what I don't like about it, but it's still a great camera.

Since you already bought it, don't worry about things like that, just go out and shoot, read tips etc.
