The images on my nikon d90 appear brighter than usual on auto? Why?
Take it off auto. Auto sucks.
Have you looked at your owner's manual? Do that and look for exposure compensation. Reset that to zero compensation.
Also, this is an excellent camera and deserves more than full auto. If you don't know how to operate the camera for best results on the manual settings I would urge you to learn.
Set EV back to 0.It's that number line with plus and minus signs. Put it to zero. You do it by fiddling with aperture size, shutter speed or both in any mode.
Continually leaving this fine camera on "auto", you will have then wasted big bucks.
