Tamron makes lenses for both Nikon and Canon. They are as good as the Nikon brand and yet a little less expensive.
I have Tamron lens for my Canon, and it is one of the best after market lens that I have bought.

Another excellent brand to look into is the Sigma lenses. They are also great quality lenses.

I own four Tamron lenses, in the Sony Alpha / Minolta "A" mount, the only one I ever had a problem with was my 28-300, it had real bad "lens creep" It would zoom out while hanging from the neck strap, Tamron repaired it, no problems since.
Tamrons I own; 28-300 XR DI 2 F3.5-6.3, 17-50 XR DR 2 F2.8. 70-200 XR DI F2.8, & 90mm F2.8 macro. My feeling is these are the best lenses for the money, with a longer US warranty than Sigma. Six years vs four years.

Cheaper than Nikon lenses. You get exactly what you paid for.

I've got a Tamron that's nice. Good value as they're much cheaper than Nikon/Canon equivalents but obviously not quite as good. Sigma are also good. I actually slightly prefer them to Tamron.

One thing to remember, you will need a tamron with a Built in Motor (BiM) to get autofocus.
