Nikon D7000 now or wait for the D400? Upgrading from D40?

Is the D7000 a good upgrade?
How much do you think the D400 will be and is it worth the wait for an upgrade from the D40?

The D7000 is almost brand new. Unless you are needing a really tough DLSR, the D7000 is perfectly fine.

You have been asking this over and over for two days. If you can't make this decision on your own you are not ready for either one.

It is an awesome camera, no doubt.
But for half the price you can get a D90, which already has most of the things that make the D7000 a great camera as well. You may be better off with a D90 and the rest of the money spent for a fine lens (e.g.a 50mm/1.4G) than with a D7000 and just a kit lens.
I did the same upgrade, from a D40 to a D90, and as much as i drool over the specs of the D7000, i wouldn't pay the difference in price between my D90 and a D7000 to upgrade from the former to the latter, even if i could re-sell my D90 without loss.
