Should I purchase the Nikon D5100 now or wait?

Should I purchase the Nikon D5100 now or will Nikon come out with an upgrade?

The D5100 just came out in may of 2011
it will be the end of this year, or spring of 2013 before a replacement is officially announced

If you wait, you'll lose photo shoot opportunities.

If you are really sure of that camera then buy it now. By the way, it's the best entry-level camera for me considering it's lower in price compared to others except D3100.

I say go for the Nikon D5100. Its better to get the thing that has been tried and tested. This camera has been ranked as number 1 in the top 100 DSLR cameras category on amazon. And even if you wait 4 the new version what if it lets you down. I saw a really good bargain for the D5100 here:
