Should I trade my nikon for canon?

Something s Wrong!
Something s Wrong!

My nikon is a d60 and I would end up with a canon t3i. (I also have a nikon n70 so I switch lenses between my cameras) The only reason I'd like to change would be for video. Or is their a decent hd quality video cam I can buy for under $250?

Added (1). I was reading that the D90 can record video for only 5 mins on hd & I think 15 on regular. I would be willing to turn in both cams. Another question would be will I still be able to af with my older lens on the d90 or would I have to manual focus?

YES! Canon is way better than Nikon!
you'll be much happier with a Canon than a Nikon

All that will accomplish is to make you spend money on a new set of lenses. Why not trade for a Nikon with video? In the long run it will end up being much cheaper.

You already have a system going on. If your only purpose of getting the Canon is video, why not get a separate digital video camera instead? Try window shopping at http://bhphotovideo.com/...ovideo.com.

I concur with sticking to Nikon, especially since you already have a system going

as for the D90, it is a great choice and actually has better lens compatibility than the D60. The D90 has an AF motor, allowing you to use AF lenses with autofocus (instead of just AF-S and AF-I on the D60)

Canon has unveiled the EOS T3i (known in Europe as the EOS 600D) upper entry-level DSLR. It continues to use the 18MP CMOS sensor seen in the Rebel T2i (550D) but gains a tilt and swivel 1, 040k dot LCD monitor like the one offered on the more expensive 60D. It also gains the ability to remotely control flashguns using its internal flash, a feature previously only featured on higher-end models. Alongside the camera, Canon is also launching the 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS II, a cosmetically revised version of its optically stabilized kit lens. We've had a chance to use pre-production versions of both and have prepared a Hands-On Preview of the EOS 600D including beta samples gallery.
