Pros and Cons of the Nikon D3100?

I'm looking into getting a Nikon D3100 and every camera must have its pros and cons,
whatre they for this particular model?

The pros are what you make of it. To be honest. In MY opinion, it is a con that it does not have an internal focus motor meaning you can't use all of the 80 or so lenses in the Nikon lineup, but by the time you have so much glass, it is about time for an upgrade. And that it does not have a secondary scroll wheel to separately control aperture
as for quality, it is excellent, as for quality of pictures and videos, excellent.
best would be for you to check out the camera for yourself. Those are the two cons for me, everything else is perfect.

Since this is your first dSLR, there are going to be enough AF-S lenses available to keep you busy until you decide to buy a camera like the D300s or its replacement in a few years.
No one has found any cons except for maybe that they could not afford the $5, 000 Nikon body they really wanted.
It is not heavy enough to defend yourself if you ever got into that kind of situation (the D3 heavy enough for that)
