Tired of my kit lens for Nikon D90, opinions on good quality lenses amateurs should have?
I'm at the Art Institutes as a photo major, a year in, and I only have my D90 along with the kit lens that came with it. I just want advice on a quality lens that would work well with portraits, but also candids at family functions.

I have a Nikon D3100 DSLR, and it doesn't have the screw-drive motor found in the more expensive ones which focuses with D lenses like 50mm f/1.8D. So I was wondering, is there a kind of an external motor attached on the mount which would focus with the D lenses?
Buying First time flash for Dslr Nikon D5100?

Good photography backpack for travel?
I would like to find a back pack that I can take as a carry on to carry my Nikon D7000, 2 compact primes, and a zoom lens (possibly more, but probably not)
I would also like if it could carry a tripod and a smallish laptop ( not sure what model, I have a Asus G74sx which is out of the question for travel thanks to it's immense size)
It also must take accessories such as battery chargers and cleaning stuff, maybe a flash
And I would like one that isn't particularly easy to get into, because I'm going to italy in a tourist group and would prefer if none of my photography equipment were to get stolen from my backpack

I have camera called Nikon d3100.Im going to event, where its kind of dark. What is the best way to film videos in dark place with this camera/ how Do i do it?

So i have the Nikon D3200 which records 1080hd video and so does the cannon t4i so why is everyone saying Cannon's better? Is there some sort of compression or something? Ok here is a sample video I made with a bunch of clips from my D3200

Why is the nikon d5100 superior to the d3100?
I'm buying the d5100 for Christmas and was simply wondering what makes the price gap. This is for serious photography (not videos or snapshots) and I can finally afford a DSLR of $600 or less. I have researched but am still unsure of what exactly it has over the d3100. Also, why is the d7000 more, if you know? All the real improvements I see in that is the better build and slightly better specs, not worth the $400 gap.
