Nikon D5100 Black Pictures Issue?
I'm considering buying a Nikon D5100 today. I have done a lot of research and I think this is the perfect camera for what I need. However, I keep seeing consumer reports about a black picture issue. After 3-8 months of use some people report that the shutter becomes stuck. They will send it back to be fixed, only to have this issue happen again.
Does anyone know anything about this? Was it a 'bad batch' vs.a manufacture error.
Is it still worth purchasing or should I keep looking? Opinions?
Thanks!
Added (1). I found these negative reviews on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-16-2MP-Digital-18-55mm-3-5-5-6/dp/B004V4IWKG)
As well as:

It also have many more glowing reviews then bad ones. So I'm just not sure if its worth the risk…

Lenses and settings for pub gig photography?
I'm a complete amateur but have enough knowledge and love shooting in manual mode etc. I have done some theatre photography with my kit lenses that came with Nikon d5000. Namely the 18-55mm and 55-200mm
However I purchased a afs 35mm 1.8 which I also love using for general stuff but I'm also considering the 50mm 1.8 too.
It's a small pub and I'm taking photos of a band. I can't afford anything more than these lenses anyway so my question is will these be okay and recommend some good settings? Is it worth getting the 50mm too? I can afford it right now so is it a worthwhile addition to my kit?
Many thanks.
Added (1). Sorry should say don't want to use flash for this band.
I've tried with kit lens before and I just can't get lighting right as too dark. Theatre photography was fine as plenty of lighting. This pub will have about 2 lights!
I do love my 35mm for portraits much prefer to my kit lens and tend to keep it on my camera most!

How to take multiple images in a single click useing nikon d3200?
How to take multiple images in a single click useing nikon d3200?

I just purchased a Nikon D3100 and it came with the standard 18-55mm lens. After one weekend of shooting kids baseball, I realize I'm going to need more zoom… What would anyone recommend?

I'm flying on allegiant air next month and i was wondering if my nikon d3000 would be considered a carry-on or personal item if i'm taking a bag with other stuff in it. Would both be able to fit under the seat? Sorry if this sounds confusing

Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6 for Weddings?
I shoot with a Nikon D5100 and am looking into purchasing my first lens (aside from the kit lens of course). I'm on a budget. The only telephoto lens I can afford right now is the 55-200mm lens, and I have shot one wedding before with a 18-55mm and a borrowed Canon Rebel and 70-300mm. I have just read that the 55-200mm is "horrible", "terrible", etc. For weddings and I'd like some input. And *please*, If you're going to be sarcastic, rude, or "more-professional-than-thou", go somewhere else. I'm looking for honest answers and opinions, not your mean remarks. *Thanks!*
